A Short History Of Progress by Ronald Wright -- An interesting and thought provoking book with some absolute gems. I certainly learnt a lot from it.

Blind Faith by Ben Elton -- Science fiction which doesn't seem to be that far away. Once again Ben Elton does it with a funny but worrying book.

The First Casualty by Ben Elton -- A gripping whodunit which sensitively addresses issues of conscientious objection.
